Immerse yourself in the place William Morris called home and experience it in a new light as we open the doors for our exclusive Candlelight Tours.

Join us on Wednesday 23rd October as we open the doors for our first candlelight tours here at Kelmscott Manor. Step back in time and experience the house by candlelight as you are shown around  by one of our experienced guides who will weave stories of Kelmscott and the Morris family as you go, evoking a feel of what it would’ve been like to experience the Manor in the past.

To ensure you can fully immerse yourself in the tour we have limited availability to 8 spaces per slot, so please book early to avoid disappointment.  Tickets are £18 per person*

We will be running a tour every half an hour starting at the following times:

12.00, 12.30, 13.00, 13.30, 14.00, 14.30, 15.00, 15.30

Each tour will last approximately 1 hour .

Join us an hour before your tour slot to decorate your own glass lantern to take with you as you go around the house. Print your own William Morris inspired pattern or use pressed flowers to create your own lantern which you can then take home with you.

Our tearoom will be serving tea and cake between 11am and 4pm and our shop will be open from 11am-5pm on the day. You are also free to explore the grounds and gardens before or after your tour – the site will be open from 11am-5pm.

Please be aware that this tour will be lit by candlelight therefore light levels will be low in the house. The tour will cover all three floors so it will be necessary to climb stairs including our split staircase into the attics, under low light, to experience the full tour. Please contact us if you have any questions over accessibility.
Please note that due to the historic nature of the building and our need to protect the collection the Manor will be lit by LED candles.

*Please note this is a special event and a ticket is required – your Annual Pass does not cover this event.  Due to reduced light levels this tour is suitable for ages 16+ only.
