Come and join us in a celebration of William Morris’ discovery of Kelmscott.

Morris first saw Kelmscott Manor in May 1871, taking on a joint lease on the place with Dante Gabriel Rossetti shortly after.

Help us celebrate this and the beauty of Kelmscott and the impact it had on Morris with a series of activities on the day including:

  • Discover our new Albion Press and take part in a printing activity
  • Slow looking in the front garden – experience the view that first enchanted Morris and led him to describe Kelmscott as ‘Heaven on Earth’ and take time to really notice your surroundings
  • Mini Morris seek and find trail in the House – our mini William Morris’s have been exploring the house- can you find them all?
  • See samples of letters written by Morris and and take part in our letter writing activity around the grounds.
  • Visit the learning barn and find what other activities are taking place on the day!
