Come and join us for our Strawberry Thief Celebration as we celebrate the stolen berry that inspired one of William Morris’s most famous patterns! We’ll have strawberry treats in our Tea Room, and free activities to join in with all day – from building bug hotels to support biodiversity to sewing strawberries with artist Kay Adamson and learning some of the most famous stitches in our museum! With free entry to the grounds and gardens and all activities, there will be something for everyone to enjoy! (Please note a ticket is required if you wish to go in the house).

Activities throughout the day include:

Embroidery workshop with Kay Adamson

Join Kay for this drop in workshop where she will teach visitors two stitches frequently used by May Morris, couching and Burden stitch.  Using these stitches you’ll have the opportunity to embroider your own strawberry flower and strawberry (time allowing).  Demonstrations will take place half hourly throughout the day from 11am onwards.

Make a bee or bug hotel

Our volunteers will be in the grounds showing you how to make your own bee or bug hotel using recycled and natural materials.

Strawberry Thief Trail

Pick up a Strawberry Thief trail and explore the Manor grounds to find the hidden strawberry thieves and see if you can reveal the hidden code!

Strawberry Thief Colouring

Design and colour in your very own strawberry thief bird to take home.

Mini Morris Hunt

Mini Morris has been exploring the house- can you find all six of them?
