Community Groups

“I do not want art for a few, any more than education for a few, or freedom for a few.”

Bring Your Community Group to Kelmscott Manor

We love to welcome community groups and other organisations to Kelmscott Manor, the country home of the great writer, designer, campaigner and political activist William Morris. The mission of our community learning programme is to widen access to Kelmscott Manor for those who might face barriers to participation.

“The staff & volunteers were excellent, they couldn’t do enough to help us. Those who guided us around the house were very knowledgeable indeed. Everything was very well organised & well thought out.”

Local Carers’ Centre

We provide opportunities for groups to explore the house and grounds, to be inspired by our incredible museum collection and the beautiful environment around us and to develop skills and improve wellbeing through participation in creative activities.

We also partner with groups and organisations on extended community projects that we build and develop together, inviting new perspectives to shape our work at the Manor, sharing knowledge and resources, and enabling a deeper interaction with our incredible site and the objects, ideas, and stories that reside here.

Get in touch with the Learning and Outreach Officer if you think your community group would benefit from a visit to this inspiring place or you’d like to explore partnership work with us.
